King Mukherjee of Global Impex to moderate panel at ITMA



MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – King Mukherjee, founder & president of Global Impex USA, will represent the Advanced Textile Association (ATA) at ITMA 23 when he moderates a panel, “Refining, Recycling, Repurposing New Materials for Upscaling and Mass Market Application.”



Mukherjee will act as a representative of the ATA’s board for Emerging Technology Council within his role as moderator at ITMA.


The panel discussion will take place Saturday, June 10 during the Innovator Xchange,

in Hall 3.


Featured panelists will be Michael Korger, University of Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR), Research Institute for Textile and Clothing; Professor Dr. René Rossi, Empa – Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology; and Professor Parikshit. Goswami, The University of Huddersfield.


Mukherjee brings a wealth of experience through his many affiliations, including chairing the Global Business Leadership department at College of Saint Benedict + Saint John’s University.


ITMA 2023 is taking place from June 8 to 14 in Milan, Italy. The event is the largest international exhibition of textile and garment technology The event will showcase the latest advancements in sustainable materials, robotics and AI for production, and innovative technologies. The exhibition is held every four years and consistently attracts the participation of the largest delegations from the U.S. textile industry. ITMA is known internationally and acts as an invaluable space for buyers and sellers across the globe.


ITMA 2023 has created a platform for industry professionals to explore the path toward a more sustainable future through technological innovation and a focus on circularity. The exhibitions shown will set the trajectory for the industry for the next five years. The event will feature informative sessions, and exhibitions, highlighting the efforts of experienced industry professionals to drive positive change in the textile industry.


The ATA will act as a key asset for ITMA 2023. Over 100 years old, the ATA and is headquartered in Roseville, Minn. It is a not-for-profit trade association that is composed of representative companies representing the international landscape of specialty fabrics. Through its role as the largest and most comprehensive trade association, it can contribute a multitude of tools and value to its representative companies.
